Once upon a time...

Once upon a time, a Saloon girl meets a real cute cowboy at a Saloon.. We will call it "Tombstop" (Not to be confused as GAMESTOP).. Cowboy wants nothing more than to steal her heart so he tries to get a job at "Tombstop"..

The Saloon girl interviews him for the job, but really feels like there could be *more* there than just a good Assistant Manager.. err... Cowboy.
Saloon girl does not hire him, and they fall in love because he tells the funniest cowboy jokes around. He puts a ring on her finger and the rest is history.

True Story.

Guess who's coming for dinner?

Well, the whole weekend actually..

AND...

I can't wait to see them! I just saw them last weekend but I already miss their sweet faces.

Miss Sophie claps her hands now, and it is so cute to watch, and Karsen just had her 7th birthday and first slumber party! Love those girls (:

In other news, Red River Shootout (Texas/OU Game) happened this weekend.. This did not end well for my Longhorns, and as you probably know by now, means that my husband (OU Fan) gets to wear the pants this year.. for a whole year, until Texas wins again. Which really is just a silly joke because we all know who wear the pants. Right?

So, since there were no movies showing, and we went to dinner fairly early Saturday night, and were not ready to go home (and someone had an adult beverage at dinner and was super giggly) he chose to do this..

Yep. That says PSYCHIC READER. It was so weird. We drove up at this house, and there were two really really nice cars in the driveway. So for some reason this made us think that it was safe to just walk up to this place and walk in. Well, like I said it was someone's house, and there was a little girl that was sitting on the floor in the dark in the living room just staring at us. Not kidding.
There was a very small kitchen directly to our left, and there were pots left on the stove with some kind of food in them. It was really messy, and the little girl asked us if we wanted her to go get her mom. We told her yes, and her mother came around the corner hacking her lungs up, not covering her mouth, and asked us if she could help us.. My hilarious husband pops back with, "You don't already know?" and Drunky (me) starts laughing so hard. She told us she was really sick, and asked if we could come back tomorrow. We got the heck out of there and did not go back the next day, but we did talk about it all day and how much it creeped us out.

So, that my friends, is a Date night with the Durbs.
And then we came home and watched the Amanda Knox movie, and SNL of course.

In baby news, it's CD1 and my last cycle was only 32 days.. getting better!

That's all for now!

Have a wonderful week!

Survey says...

I got this from my wonderful friend/co-workers blog and since I was thinking of my answers as I read hers, I thought I would borrow it from her. Thanks Meet the Joiners (;

A. Age: 32

B. Bed size: Queen- for some reason, this was one of the toughest decisions we had whenever we bought our furniture for our house. My 6 foot 6 husband probably needs a King bed, but my thoughts were that I did not want our someday child sleeping in bed with us, and if we had a Queen bed they wouldn't fit. I have heard of some couples having their 13 year olds sleep in bed with them, and I just did not ever want to get that started. Also, if we ever go to bed mad, we can't stay mad long because we are up in each others grill, and Matt is making weird noises that are being recorded. More on that later.

C. Chore that you hate: For sure, it would be cleaning the floors. I don't mind cleaning them, it's just that they do not stay clean thanks to Murray and Josie. They find the biggest piece of weeds they can find whenever they go outside to potty, and one of them is always bringing something inside with them.

D. Dogs: Speaking of... Murray and Josie.. They are so sweet (: We had our big dog Cash for about 3 years.. he is the one we got from the SPCA, and he passed away about 4 months ago. It was super sad, but he had cancer and we know that he is not hurting anymore. He was a cool dude that's for sure.

Note: Matt called to tell me he had died whenever I was on my way to a new driver orientation. Yep, I had about 30 guys waiting on me to welcome them to the company and go over paperwork and benefits with a swollen red face and make up running down because I could not stop crying.

E. Essential start to your day: Alarm goes off, and Murray and I run down the stairs really fast so that I can let him out to pee (Josie and Matt are still sleeping the night away) He starts shreiking right as we get to the back door, like he cannot hold it any longer. What would happen if I hit snooze? He would surely hold it. After that I brush my teeth, take my bath/ wash my hair, and then put make up on usually while watching Saved by the Bell. Jealous?

F. Favorite color: Purple

G. Gold or Silver: Silver

H. Height: 5'5

I. Instruments you play: I can totally rock the air guitar.

J. Job title: Personnel Recruiter

K. Kids: None, just the dogs

L. Live: Outside of Houston, Texas, in Humble (pronounced "Umble", please do not pronounce it Humble to my face)

M. Mother’s name: Barbara Ann

N. Nicknames: H-Bomb

O. Overnight hospital stays: None thank goodness!

P. Pet peeves: I hate it when people stare, and I hate it people drive for miles and miles and miles down the road with their blinker on. I think it makes me more nausous to think that the blinker contraption thingy might be clicking inside their car and they do not hear it or it does not bother them.

Q. Quote from a movie: "Son of a Nutcracker!" -Buddy the Elf

R. Right or left handed: Right

S. Siblings: 2 brothers, 1 sister, three sister in laws, 2 brother in laws, and one sister in law on the way (:

U. Underwear: Like if there were a panty time-line, starting with a thong, and ending with Granny panties, I would be wearing the ones right before the granny panties.. no wedgies, high wasted, polyester/nylon material. How sexy is that?

V. Vegetable you hate: Green peas.. Thank you Linda Blair on the Exorcist for that hatred for the rest of my life.

W. What makes you run late: If I did run late, which I rarely do, it would have to be traffic, because I do not like others to wait on me EVER.

X. X-Rays you’ve had: Teeth, wrist, and I think that is it.

Y. Yummy food that you make: Chicken and sausage gumbo, jumbalaya, and tater tot casserole.

Z. Zoo animal: I like the Giraffes because they look like my husband...

Oopsie.

Yucky. I had my first wreck ever, and of course it was right outside my new job. I am ok and so was the other lady, thank goodness, and I was the one ticketed because the cop had no way to prove that she was driving like a bat out of hell. Thank goodness I have great insurance that booked me a rental car for first thing the next morning, and has called to check on my about 3 times. I have some war wounds on my arm and on my belly, and some weird bruising showed up on my belly yesterday. My neck was really sore but today it is much better.
So now I am driving like a 92 year that I would have had road rage with a month ago, going about 40 miles down the highway. I am super cautious, and I leave my cell phone IN my purse. If it rings, I will get to it whenever I get to my destination.
On a good note: it's Saturday and it's super cool outside, AND.. I have already done my grocery shopping for the week. I plan on cleaning, and cooking, and maybe taking down some Halloween decorations out of the attic.
Happy Saturday to you (:

Catch up time!

Time to catch you all up! I can’t believe it’s been 3 months since I posted last, so I have lots to say and I am going to try to remember it all now. Most of it will be rather random, just so you know.
We had a vacation planned with my brother Matt and my sister in law Kim to go to New Orleans. This was our first time to go, and we were looking forward to it.. Matt and Kim were looking forward to some Mommy and Daddy time since they had their sweet baby girl in March. Well, poor baby got sick, and she was in the hospital! It was so sad, and I am sure that Matt and Kim were terrified. We postponed our trip for the time being, and Matt and I decided to take off work since we had already requested it, and I had a ton of vacation time I had to use at work, and the four of us went to L’Baurge Du Lac in Lake Charles. My sweet husband won $1200 on a penny machine as soon as we got there!!! Then he learned to play craps, and won some more money on that. We were so excited! So he used some of his winnings to purchase an IPad2, and we are having a blast with that and the new world of apps that we have never seen before. Of course, we are using it for intelligent things like farting sound effects, popping pimples (yes, that is really an app) and fantasy football. First class all the way for the Durbin’s! Oh, and on another app, Matt has put a picture of my face in a shark tank and likes to watch the sharks eat me. How is that for love?
Speaking of Fantasy football, we have 3 teams between the two of us, and all of our guys on all of our teams are getting injured, getting arrested, getting suspended.. all lots of fun. This is my first year to play, and all I ask is that they make it through the tunnel without getting hurt.. C’mon now. Not too much to ask for someone who makes millions a year, am I right?
And the most special, important news of all… I GOT A NEW JOB! I started on September 6th, and while leaving Sun Coast was very hard, and a huge decision for me, I really feel as though I made an excellent choice. My last day at Sun Coast was so emotional!! I cried all day, and was just amazed at how much I was appreciated. I got a HUGE card from all the drivers, and they all wrote such sweet things. I will miss everyone, but again, I am extremely happy and confident in my decision, and am looking forward to a bright, sunny future as a Personnel Recruiter!
Other than all this, I have just been getting adjusted to my new hours, and getting the new schedule down. Nothing much going on in the baby makin’ department (what’s new?), other than I did start this month on time, as in 28 days on time. WOW! I plan on making a consultation appointment with an acupuncturist who specializes in “sub-fertility” in both men and women after a full cycle to see if it’s 28 days again this month. She came highly recommended from my new buddy at my new job, who I just know will be pregnant in no time. (; I cannot wait to feed her (and me ) chocolate all day!!

My latest Obsessions.. Part 2

I cannot get enough of my cousin Mallory's blog!!

She is spending the summer with her boyfriend in Australia, and has started this awesome blog to keep everyone posted on what all she is doing..

http://malloryandbeaudownunder.blogspot.com/

She left Houston on June 4th, and I think she was there for two weeks and he proposed to her while she was in Australia. She is just beaming in her pictures they took right after he proposed, and it makes my heart smile a million times over because I love how happy she is. Of course, we love Beau too and are so excited he will be part of our family!!

If your heart needs a good smilin', check out her blog (:
Oh, and Happy Birthday Mallory! I love you so much!

My latest Obsessions.. Part 1

Shellac Nail polish- LOVE IT!!!

If I can get any kind of manicure that I cannot destruct the polish myself, being the picker that I am, then I am sold for life!

This stuff is amazing!! I literally go get manicures every other week, it is now more important to me than pedicures. So my feet are somewhat needing attention.

So if you want to have long lasting, hard, strong manicures, go get a manicure and when they tell you "GO PICK YOUR COLOR" (they always scream it to me as soon as I walk in the door, which is the reason for the all caps)then yell back at them "I WANT SHELLAC" and if they are like my salon they have plastic nails colored and attached to a CD case with all the different colors.

It supposedly last two weeks, but this picture shows what it looks like after a week.

My only gripe is there are usually only about 20 or so colors to choose from, but I can live with it and always find something I love.

Day 06 – A song that reminds of you of somewhere

This song reminds me of VEGAS!!! I want to go back so badly!!!

Sunday, May 29, 2011

Day 5- A song that reminds you of someone

"Daddy let me drive".. of course reminds me of my wonderful dad. He has always been my rock, and has always been someone that I looked up to, respected, and now that I am grown he is someone that I can talk to about anything. I am so thankful for him.

Me, my sister, and my pops... love him so much <3

Day 4- A Song that makes you sad

This song reminds me of my grandmothers who I miss very much. This was played at both of their funerals.. It's beautiful, but so sad.

Sunday, May 22, 2011

Day 3- A Song that makes me happy..

Glee makes me happy, so this song totally makes me happy!

This is truly one of the best shows I have ever seen on TV. It could be 3 hours long, 5 nights a week and I still would not get enough.

My favorite episode was the "Blame it on the Alcohol" that came on a few months back, and this song has been the most recently played on my Ipod ever since. It was super cute, and it really makes me happy because I love the original song, and I love Rachel Berry and Blaine. I tried to find the video of them singing it on the show, but this was as close as I could find..

Matt and I might or might not sing really loudly to this in the car on date nights (:

Day 2- My Least Favorite Song

Ok, I have two.. and my hate for these two songs is very strong.
Ladies first.. Pocket full of sunshine, exactly what does that mean? Honestly, my gym plays it all the time so that might have something to do with it. I am dying on an elliptical or treadmill hearing this crap. Thank goodness for my IPod.

And now for the worst. song. ever. This came out about the time that I met Matt, and it was such a happy time in my life, and for whatever reason, this song drives me crazy.

Out of the 30 day song challenge realm, my life has been pure CHAOS. Seriously, my days of having a ton of spare time relaxing, blogging, and being able to do my normal everyday things are gone. For example, I dropped my comforter off at the cleaners over a week ago and I have not picked it up, and that is not like me because I do not like sleeping with a sheet. I will try to get it today.
I have been super busy with the gym, working out 3-4 times a week, taking Zumba classes, and I have done a few days of couch to 5k, had family over at the house, not to mention work.. we have hired about 250 people this year so far. It's crazy from the minute I get there until after I leave. I love it, because it really makes the time go by fast, but I haven't even been taking lunch breaks because the company has been providing lunches so that we stay in and stay working.
Also, I am sad that we did not get to go to Vegas this year ); With Matt starting a new job, and so much other stuff going on there was just no way. We plan on going next year though because my younger brother just got engaged and wants to do it up big for his bachelor party in VEGAS!!!
Congrats Seth and Spencer, I am so happy for you guys and I am looking forward to standing up for you as bridesmaid in your wedding.
Aren't they freaking adorable???

Not only do I get a new sister, but I get a super cute nephew .. check out this little guy..

So cute!!!
