Happy Easter!

Hey there! I am headed out of town for New Orleans (again) for Easter so I wanted to share a few pictures from Easters of the past before I left!

1 of 4 Winners of the Easter Bonnet decorating contest in Kindergarten; thank you Mom! My bonnet was too cool for school but Nathan on the far left had a "fishing" hat..Nuff said.

Early to rise on Easter morning to see what the Easter Bunny brought! Looks like it was lots and lots of goodies!

Easter Bunny lovin'..

I hope that everyone has a fantastic Easter and that the Easter bunny leaves lots and lots of Reese's Eggs for my friends and loved ones!

Sophie's 2nd Birthday

My beautiful niece turned 2 years old last week! We had so much fun at her birthday and I enjoyed taking lots and lots of pictures to document the day.

She has a thing for Minnie Mouse and the Mickey's Clubhouse show, so her mom ran with the theme! She did a great job! I felt really bad for her because she ordered a super cute Minnie outfit for Sophie to wear that was black and hot pink to match her party but it did NOT show up in time. So frustrating, but Sophie still looked adorable..

First, pictures of the precious decorations:

And Sophie had a great time playing on her brand new swing set that her mom and dad got her!

She  had lots of fun having everyone sing Happy Birthday to her, and opening her presents!

This little cutie sure does make my heart smile BIG and has so many people that love her so much!

We had a great time celebrating Sophie's 2nd Birthday! Kim did a GREAT job on the birthday party.. I think I want to her to throw my next party!
Happy Birthday sweet Sophie! Aunt Heather loves you to the moon and back!

13. Go to a Musical/Play

Yay for knocking #13 off my list!

3.Buy lunch for a stranger

7.Get fitted for shoes and purchase them at Luke's locker

9. Buy a Canon Rebel camera

13. Go to a musical/play

14. Visit New Orleans

My adorable little cousin, Emily, is super talented and does a few plays throughout the year through TUTS and at the Applause Theater so whenever I heard she had one coming up I bought tickets so that we could go cheer her on, and as a bonus I could knock another item off my list!
Emily actually had the lead in this play! She played a recent grad named Hope, whose father is the senator of a town who charged underprivileged folks to go to the bathroom. Of course, her character falls in love with one of those folks so she (SPOILER ALERT) teams up with the town to change things around in "Urinetown". There were lots of cute songs about peeing, and since bathroom humor is hilarious to me, I enjoyed it and laughed pretty hard.

Thankfully, the big star of the show was available for some photos after her big performance!

Such a good time!

Also, I would like to think that Emily's debut as a performer was on March 27, 2004 whenever she was the BEST FLOWER GIRL in the world!
Look at this cuteness..

What a doll- love this sweet girl, and her mom, dad, and brothers (Andrew not pictured) are pretty cool too.

God made a dog.

And thank God for making a dog.. I am not sure what I do without my sweet fur babies. They drive me nuts sometimes, but I couldn't imagine a day without them.

Mules and Styx

A few weekends ago we went to my step-dad's 50th birthday party! Mike (Mule is his nickname) is a GREAT guy, and would do anything in the world for anyone. He is such a great match for my mom and I am so happy they have found each other.
Mule is quite the BBQ chef- he actually has a seasoning and BBQ sauce out that he makes that would knock your socks off! It's called "Shake your Mule" and it's amazing, and my husband eats it on everything, so you can imagine my excitement when he grilled steaks, chicken, ribs, and sausages for everyone on HIS birthday!!
Such a fun day!

Mule's precious cake, and I swear my mom sent me home with 1/4 of it.

The cake table, I wanted to tear into one of those cupcakes SO badly!!

My beautiful mom and her handsome "Mule".

Matt and his mom, Linda. She had a great day running the roads with us!

So while we were visiting with my mom and Mike,  Mike mentioned he had extra Styx tickets for the rodeo that was taking place the very night next. Now, most folks know that I am not a country music person, so looking at the normal line up for the Houston Livestock and Rodeo music enternainment, I am most likely going to fight crowds for whatever the alternative/pop/rock concerts may be. When they made the big reveal for the lineup for this year's rodeo, and I heard that Styx was going I immediately knew we would have to go to that one. I bought tickets from a co-worker, and Matt ended up giving them to one of his customer's because some other tickets he had promised him had not come in yet. I was a little devastated, but when Mike extended the sweet invitation for us to go with them I was THRILLED!
You may be asking yourself.. "Self, what does Styx sing? I don't think I have ever heard of them so why is she so excited?" Let me assure you that you have heard of them, so just to name a few..

Ohh, you say, now I know who they are! You are welcome (;

And, our seats were SO close!!! We were literally on the 6th row from the ground in the action seats, and my super cool new camera and mega lens captured these great pics..
The words for "Come Sail Away" up on the board.. This made singing at the top of my lungs much less complicated. Matt, in turn, appreciated my singing so loudly.
 Rockin' out!

SO AWESOME!! We had the best time, and are so excited that my mom and Mike invited us to go with them.

Mom, Mike- thank you so much for always being so wonderful! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful parents and love you so much!!

Photo Dump- Part one

Happy Friday! I am sure it's alot happier for some because of Spring Break but I am still excited about having no plans this weekend.

Here are some things we have been up to lately.. photo style!

I helped out with a super cute "Double Feature" baby shower for my pal, Amanda, who is having boy/girl twins! I have known Amanda for about a year and a half, and she was the first person I met at my job (literally, she interviewed me, ha! ).  She made me feel so welcome when I didn't know anyone, included me in conversations on my first day, and we ended up finding out that we both went through similar struggles with getting pregnant. I knew the minute I found this out that I would want to throw her the best baby shower that I could as soon as it was her special time, and with the help of three other great friends we pulled off a great shower for Amanda!

Lots of fun, and I couldn't be more happier for her! She is going to be a great mom and I cannot wait to meet sweet Colby and Clara!

On the same subject of sweet babies, I put together a gender reveal party for another friend, Megan, at work this week. She found out Monday morning if she was going to have a Mister or Misses and then at lunch time we had the big reveal. I decorated with orange and purple and thought the colors were great together! And... it's a BOY! She already has an ADORABLE little girl who is almost 2, so I couldn't be more excited for her as well!

The mustaches are a fun prop for anything in my opinion, I may just carry one around with me for everyday life. Also, those two (Claire and Lindsey) in the photo directly above are completely suspicious looking and I totally would not take candy from them.

Stay tuned for another photo dump of a fun 50th birthday party and the Styx concert pics that we took at the Rodeo!
